The Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) has confirmed highly
pathogenic avian influenza in two premises in the City of Abbotsford, British Columbia,
in commercial poultry.
The CFIA has advised the World Organisation for Animal Health (WOAH) of
the confirmed presence of HPAI in Canada. This serves as a strong
reminder that HPAI is spreading across the globe, and that anyone with
birds must practice enhanced biosecurity procedures.
