The Canadian Food Inspection Agency confirmed infectious salmon anaemia in New Brunswick, in Atlantic salmon (
Salmo salar). Four locations were confirmed on February 16, 2026 (the virus strain detected at all four locations is not known to cause disease), and four locations were confirmed on February 20, 2026 (the virus strain detected at two locations is not known to cause disease).
