Strangles (Streptococcus equi) has been confirmed in Wellington County, Ontario. A 20 year old Haflinger mare developed a fever (39.9 C) and a draining tract under her jaw. The discharge was positive for S. equi by PCR, confirmed on November 14, 2025. Three additional horses were exposed.
