WNV has been confirmed in a two-year-old unvaccinated miniature horse in Saskatchewan in the RM of Coal Fields No. 4. The horse has been unable to rise and walk on its own since the last week of July. Supportive treatment including dexamethasone was given. After three weeks, the horse is still not ambulatory but owner is reporting small improvements. This is the second confirmed WNV case in Saskatchewan for 2021.
