Regional Animal Health Networks

Canada is home to four regional animal health networks that support many animal health and disease surveillance activities and work to ensure a robust animal health surveillance system. These networks are the Western Canadian Animal Health Network (WeCAHN), the Ontario Animal Health Network (OAHN), the Réseau d’alerte et d’information zoosanitaire (RAIZO), and the Atlantic Canadian Animal Health Network (AtCAHN).

Western Canadian Animal Health Network

The mission of WeCAHN is to provide timely information to western Canadian veterinary practitioners, livestock producers, animal owners, and policy-makers.

Ontario Animal Health Network

OAHN seeks to form a line of communication with as many veterinarians across Ontario as possible, both to collect information about diseases seen in practice and to share pertinent health and disease information.

Réseau d'alerte et d'information zoosanitaire

RAIZO has been dedicated to improving the protection of animal and public health in Quebec. Through its various programs, RAIZO also helps producers to address the challenges of disease prevention and control.

Atlantic Canadian Animal Health Network

AtCAHN is a regional network group that brings together the four Atlantic provinces to share information, collaboratively address challenges, and realize maximum impact from activities to advance animal health and welfare.
